An Exciting Year for Welcome

We’ve made some changes to our website this week. Chiefly, there’s an important news item and a new email list we are encouraging people to sign up to.

This all relates to one thing – channel management. Two words which are undoubtedly left ringing in the ears of the vast majority of people in the hospitality industry at the moment.

During 2009, many Welcome users made one thing clear; they needed an easy-to-use, no-nonsense tool to enable them to manage their rates, availability and sales channels from a central point.

The Welcome motto is to make technology work for hotels, but we take the relevance of that technology very seriously. Rather than jumping on bandwagons, we are more interested in ensuring anything we develop offers a lasting benefit for our customers.

I’ve said it many times before, but there’s no harm in saying it again; at Welcome, we encourage hoteliers to invest in their own websites. The most profitable web bookings come from one place – your own website (particularly when Welcome Online is used, of course). The only reason channel management should be introduced is to save valuable time updating multiple systems and enable hoteliers to intelligently control the lead time for late availability released to agencies and GDS.

To meet this demand, over the last few months, our development team have been busy putting together a channel manager which will work with both the Welcome 21st PMS and Welcome Anywhere system for smaller establishments. It will not only be relevant but affordable and cost-effective too, you'll be glad to hear.

It's fair to say this is one of the most important products we've released in the last ten years and we can't wait to introduce it to you.
